Terms

Your account

• You need an account to save buildings or subscribe. You must be 18 or over.
• Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used them.
• An account is for one person. Teams need an Enterprise plan.

Plans and paying

• The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans, their prices and what each includes are on the pricing page.
• Paid plans are paid up front, by card, through Stripe: monthly, or yearly (12 months for the price of 10). Your card is saved so each renewal can be taken automatically on the same date, until you cancel. Prices are shown before VAT; if VAT applies it's added at checkout and shown on your receipt.
• When a plan starts. A paid plan starts on the day you pay for it, and its first period runs from that day. The service is a beta: features may change as we improve it.
• Launch offer. Until 11:59pm UK time on Monday 26 October 2026, new Area Data plans can pay for their first 3 months up front at half price (£223.50, covering 3 months from the day you buy). The plan then continues monthly at the standard price (£149) until you cancel. We'll email you at least 7 days before that first monthly payment.
• Yearly plans: we'll email you at least 14 days before each renewal.
• If a payment fails, Stripe tries again and we'll email you. If it still can't be taken, your plan moves to Free and your saved data stays.
• We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Cancelling and refunds

• You can cancel at any time from your account, in a few clicks. You don't need to contact us.
• Cancelling stops future renewals, and your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Then your account moves to Free.
• First-month guarantee. If it isn't useful in your first month, tell us and we'll refund your first payment in full. This applies to everyone, business or consumer, and to the first payment of every paid plan: monthly, yearly, or the launch offer's up-front payment. Ask within 30 days of that payment, through the support form or by email to hello@sortd-app.com. We'll refund the first payment in full, and any renewal already taken since, and your plan ends straight away; your account moves to Free. You don't have to give a reason.
• If you're buying as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business or profession), you can also cancel within 14 days of any payment that starts a new plan and we'll refund that payment in full. This right is separate from the first-month guarantee and is on top of your statutory rights, which these terms don't affect. The guarantee lasts longer, so you can use whichever suits you.

The data and what it isn't

• Sortd Industrial is built from the government's Energy Performance of Buildings register, as described on the methodology page. The register can be incomplete, wrong or out of date, and expiry dates are estimates.
• Everything we show is information, not legal, valuation, investment or compliance advice. The EPC B standard from 2031 is a government proposal that still needs legislation. Get professional advice before acting on it.

Using the service fairly

You mustn't:

• copy, scrape or download the data in bulk, or use automated tools to query the service, except through exports your plan includes;
• resell the data or the service, or share your account;
• use addresses from the service for anything other than the energy-efficiency purposes in the Ordnance Survey and Royal Mail notice on the methodology page;
• use the service to build lists for direct marketing to building owners or occupiers;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of the service.

The data is published under the Open Government Licence v3.0, with addresses under the Ordnance Survey and Royal Mail notice. Our analysis, design and software belong to us. Exports your plan includes are yours to use within these terms.

Our responsibility to you

• We take care to process the data accurately and to keep the service running, but we can't promise it will be error-free or always available.
• If you're a business, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months, and we're not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for indirect loss.
• If you're a consumer, we're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Ending your account

• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Cancel any paid plan first.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close an account for any other reason, we'll give 30 days' notice and refund any payment for time you won't get.

Changes to these terms

We'll email you about any change that affects you at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't accept it, you can cancel before then.
